Offers Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy is used to salvage a tooth that has become severely decayed. If decay progresses past the outer layer of a tooth, the inner pulp can become infected.

Dr. Jeppson uses advanced, virtually painless techniques to remove the pulp and sterilize the inner chamber, preserving the healthy outer portions of the tooth. Finally, the tooth is restored with a same-day dental crown.

At Jeppson Dental, we create inlays and onlays in-office using our CEREC® technology. These restorations are usually recommended when a treated tooth cannot be adequately supported with a filling, but does not require an entire crown.

Inlays fit within the cusps of a patients tooth, while onlays fit over the cusps. Our Inlays and Onlays are made from durable dental-grade porcelain, and can last many years with proper care.

At-home Dental Care

While in-office exams and cleanings are very important, your day-to-day dental care keeps your smile healthy between visits. Dr. Jeppson and our team can help you learn the most effective hygienic techniques to use at home. We often focus on flossing, which many patients tend to overlook or perform improperly. Flossing is an easy way to avoid gum disease. We also provide take-home fluoride treatments if you have an active decay rate.

Offers Gum Contouring

If you have excess gum tissue or an asymmetrical gum line, it can make your teeth look worn or unhealthy. Dr. Jeppson can remove excess tissue and reshape your uneven gum line to create a more attractive frame for your smile. He uses a surgical laser, making the procedure very quick, comfortable, and easy.

The laser actually seals blood vessels as it removes the gum tissue, greatly reducing inflammation and irritation during healing. It also sterilizes the tissues to prevent infection. Gum contouring is often combined with other treatments such as Veneers and Teeth Whitening for a more comprehensive final result.

Restore Your Smile with Same-Day Crowns

Finding time for dental repairs during your busy schedule can be difficult. In the past, patients who needed to receive a dental crown had to go through a multi-step process that would typically span several weeks. At Jeppson Dental, we can dramatically restore your smile after only one visit with same-day crowns at our Provo, UT, practice.Contact us today to find out how Dr. Joe Jeppson can use same-day crowns to repair your bite and rejuvenate your confidence.

For decades, Dental Crowns — also known as caps — have remained a trusted and effective Restorative Dental Treatment. A crown is a custom restoration that is placed over a damaged tooth to provide support and help improve its function and appearance. Traditional dental crowns are crafted by technicians at an off-site laboratory based on impressions and photographs of your teeth. This conventional method requires you to schedule multiple visits, usually over the course of several weeks. Patients also need to wear a temporary crown while the permanent one is being created.

Same-day crowns eliminate the need for multiple visits, saving the patient considerable time and energy. Recent advances in technology have allowed skilled dentists like Dr. Jeppson to create high quality crowns directly in-office. Using our CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) machine, we can fabricate and place your custom crown, often in a single visit. This innovative technology allows us to restore the function of your tooth and achieve your desired look without excessive waiting periods or multiple procedures.

When you choose to receive a same-day crown at Jeppson Dental, we will begin by taking digital images of your teeth. The images are transferred directly to a chairside computer, which uses innovative software to create a detailed 3-D map of your tooth. Next, an advanced milling machine will use this information to fabricate your custom crown, matching it in shape and color to your natural smile. Dr. Jeppson will make final adjustments to ensure an optimal fit before securely attaching the new crown to your tooth. Unlike traditional crowns, this entire process is completed in a single trip to the dentist's office, so you can leave our practice feeling confident in your new smile.

Same-day CEREC® crowns boast an array of benefits over traditional dental crowns for the right patients. Many patients choose to have same-day crowns placed when they consider their many advantages:
  • Same-day crowns are made from special dental-grade porcelain to mimic the look and sheen of natural enamel.
  • Patients do not need to return to the office at a later time to complete their procedure.
  • Patients do not have to wear a temporary restoration.
These strong, durable crowns can last for years with proper care. Crowns can be brushed and flossed just like natural teeth, and simply require periodic check-ups by your Dentist.

Dr. Jeppson's advanced technology can conveniently restore your oral health and smile. To find out whether you are a good candidate for same-day crowns, contact our office today and schedule your consultation.

Teeth Whitening

Dr. Joe Jeppson and the Jeppson Dental team are proud to provide both in-office and take-home teeth whitening options to help our patients achieve brighter smiles. Teeth Whitening is a fast and effective way to highlight everything that is beautiful about your smile. We provide Sinsational Smile® 20-minute in-office whitening and customized take-home bleaching kits designed to provide you with the bright, charismatic smile you desire. To learn more about our teeth whitening treatments, contact our Provo office today.

In-office teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures because it delivers beautiful results in a single office visit. Unlike other in-office whitening treatments, which can take more than an hour to complete, Sinsational Smile® takes just 20 minutes.

We perform your in-office whitening treatment using comfortable silicone trays pre-filled with a bleaching solution. The bleach is activated with an LED light, intensifying your results.

The number of in-office treatments you require depends upon the severity of your stains and the level of whiteness you desire. Many patients are happy with their results after a single treatment, and only come in for maintenance whitening. We also provide the Sinsational Smile® take-home whitening pen to our in-office whitening patients for touch-up treatments between regular visits.

For patients who would prefer to whiten their teeth in the comfort of their own homes, we provide customized bleaching trays and gel that patients can safely apply for a few minutes a day at home. Depending on your whitening needs, Dr. Jeppson can adjust the level of peroxide in your whitening gel. This gel is very safe and easy to use at home.

Teeth can become discolored for many reasons, such as eating foods like berries and coffee, and taking certain prescription medications. Some patients are genetically predisposed to darker teeth. There are two types of stains: extrinsic and intrinsic. Extrinsic stains occur on the outer surface of your teeth, while intrinsic stains affect the inner surface. They can often occur as a result of a root canal. It is easier to treat extrinsic stains, while intrinsic stains can require special bleaching methods, or solutions such as a Porcelain Veneer or Dental Crown.

To maintain white teeth, you should avoid teeth-staining foods, stop using tobacco, and maintain your at-home dental care routine. You should brush and floss at least twice daily. To help reduce the effects of teeth-staining substances between cleanings, rinse your mouth out with water after meals. You should also maintain your regular visits to Dr. Jeppson. Your satisfaction with the appearance of your smile is important to us, and these routine visits can help you maintain a smile that is both healthy and beautiful.

A bright, white smile can complement your entire appearance, helping you to make lasting first impressions and feel more confident. To learn more about teeth whitening, or to schedule a consultation, contact Jeppson Dental today. We look forward to helping you achieve the bright, beautiful smile you deserve.

Discreet Orthodontic Option is Invisalign

When your teeth are crooked or misaligned, it can take a serious toll on your self-confidence, and make it much more difficult to maintain oral health. Traditional Orthodontic Treatment using metal braces is not ideal for many patients who would prefer a more discreet alignment option. At Jeppson Dental, we offer both Invisalign and ClearCorrectTM treatments to our Provo patients. Dr. Joe Jeppson can help you achieve a straighter smile using a series of clear removable aligners to guide your teeth into proper alignment. To learn more about clear braces and whether they are right for you, contact us today.

Before undergoing orthodontic treatment, you will have a thorough consultation with Dr. Jeppson. He will take photos and X-rays of your teeth and jaw for evaluation, and you will discuss your treatment goals. Both Invisalign and ClearCorrect are effective treatment options for crooked teeth, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and widely spaced or crowded teeth. If you are a candidate for clear orthodontics, Dr. Jeppson will take impressions of your teeth, which off-site technicians will use to create your series of customized aligners. You will wear each aligner for about 22 hours a day, removing them only when eating or brushing and flossing. You will change to a new set of aligners about every two weeks. Treatment time with these clear orthodontic aligners is usually comparable to that of traditional braces.

If you want to correct only a few slightly crooked or crowded anterior teeth, we offer express treatment that can enhance your smile in less time. If you choose Invisalign Express, you will receive five sets of aligners that can straighten your smile in about 10 weeks. An express version of ClearCorrect is also available.

Straight, properly aligned teeth are an aesthetic asset, but they also help you to maintain a healthy smile. Put simply, straight teeth are easier to floss, and provide fewer places for plaque bacteria to accumulate.

While traditional braces provide excellent results, there are several benefits to choosing Invisalign or ClearCorrect:
Clear aligners are so subtle and fit so precisely upon your natural teeth that most people will not realize you are wearing them, even up close.
Clear aligners are smooth and comfortable within your mouth, and are less likely to irritate your gums and cheeks than traditional metal brackets and wires.

Aligners are removable, so you can continue to eat your favorite foods. While traditional braces can become damaged by eating hard or sticky foods, Invisalign and ClearCorrect allow you to eat anything you choose.
Invisalign and ClearCorrect make it easier to maintain good Dental Hygiene. Simply remove your mouthpiece, brush and floss, clean the mouthpiece, and then replace it. Clear aligners require fewer visits to the office.

Achieving a straight, symmetrical smile has never been more compatible with your lifestyle. Contact Jeppson Dental today to learn more about Invisalign and ClearCorrect.
